Oh Rebecca,
Evergreen is perfectly designed for writers! In fact throughout Evergreen's history writers, artists, musicians and poets have enjoyed our awe inspiring scenery, fresh air and comfortable climate. There are many little cabins and studios available within walking distance of Java Groove (our local coffee shop). Take a look at this custom map I made centered on Evergreen Lake and see all of the homes within walking distance to downtown: http://idx.diversesolutions.com/link/37615/ There are some beautiful homes and some very simple cabins. In fact there is what I would call an extremely pedestrian friendly cabin for sale for $49,000! So pedestrian friendly, in fact, that you can't drive to it... On the other end of the spectrum is a remarkable, legacy quality estate overlooking the lake (http://idx.diversesolutions.com/search/727/19#PropertyID=27226979) which at the time of this writing was $1,776,000 and along with the home comes a lifetime supply of amazing sunsets. This could be the setting of "Midnight At Evergreen Lake"

Am considering relocating to Evergreen once the home values increase here in Arizona or in California ... would sell one of my houses in either state to purchase a place in Evergreen. However, I would like to live close enough to town to be able to walk for morning coffee, etc. A small quaint house or cabin, nothing elaborate, just me and my 3 cats. Is there such a place, you think?
