Herzman Mesa represents why people move to Evergreen and what people are looking for when they move to the mountains. Situated just South of downtown Evergreen at around 7,500 feet above sea level, it offers spectacular views of the mountains and plenty of privacy and space. Originally platted in 1946 not too much has changed for Herzman Mesa. With mountain homes in a heavily treed area– homes in this part of Evergreen range from the original weekender/writer/artist cabins of the mid-40’s to new construction custom homes taking advantage of beautiful views and quick access to downtown Evergreen.Evergreen Real Estate in Herzman Mesa is a perfect spot for those who wish to commute in to Denver for work but live away from it all. The subdivision is easily accessible to Highway 73, offering a few options in the Denver commute. 73 to Evergreen Parkway and I-70, 73 to 74 (Lower Bear Creek Canyon to Morrison Road and 470) and 73 to North Turkey Creek Canyon to 285 to 470 are all viable options for a city drive. Herzman Mesa is minutes to the town center of Evergreen, making for easy shopping, dining and entertainment.
Most of the lots in Herzman Mesa are set amongst the pine trees, offering privacy and a true mountain feel. The majority of lots are over an acre, some large enough and zoned to be considered horse property although there are quite a few smaller lots as well, some as little as just under a half acre. Most homes have an individual septic system and water is typically provided by a household use well.
The outdoor recreational opportunities are endless in Evergreen Colorado and Herzman Mesa is a neighborhood located near many activities. Evergreen Lake is nearby, offering canoeing, fishing and ice skating in the winter months. Cub Creek Park and Bell Park almost surround the community so the sledding and wildlife are always nearby, offering a plethora of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.
